God created Adam from clay and earth Then his soul was bestowed upon the body and God taught Adam hidden knowledge that other creaturesdid not know Then God commanded all the angels to bow down to Adam However, Satan rejected God's command and claimed to be superior  due to his nature being fiery rather than clay.  In some sense, when someone degrades others and is boastful, they are following Satan's path.
